JOY! A homosexual’s search for fulfillment
(updated)
Terrorized by memories of a predator from a young age, molested by the high school principal, and suffering from feelings of betrayal and rejection, Ramona, a vulnerable teenager, only desired to be loved and accepted. Naive and immature, at age eighteen, she made a choice, and then, in July 1971, after almost ten years of living the gay lifestyle, she read a magazine article about Pat Boone’s book, A New Song. As she read Pat’s book, Ramona’s heart was stirred by a familiar longing for God, and she remembered the joy she once knew when she first became a Christian at age eleven.

COURAGE to follow the TRUTH
How do two people conquer the lies that lured them into promiscuity and homosexuality? How do the woman, being terrified of men, and the man, emotionally stunted by grief, learn to function in marriage? Yet, here are Philip and Ramona Preston, after nearly 35 years of marriage, sharing how God’s amazing mercy and love have given them COURAGE to Follow the Truth.
While their first real encounter was less than impressive, Phil and Ramona met and came to know one another in the supportive atmosphere of a loving Christian fellowship. God was the matchmaker who worked in both of their hearts, and they became engaged without ever having a date. They were married in early 1977.
In COURAGE to Follow the Truth, they share their sorrow and loneliness stemming from lost relationships with their fathers, as well as other individual struggles, failures, fears, and challenges. As they depend upon Father God to faithfully search out the darkened places of their souls, where lies have been hidden, they experience the life-altering power of the Holy Spirit leading them into victory and gently healing their wounded hearts.
Phil and Ramona have weathered many storms and experienced losses, but none as painful as the inability to have children. Even so, there is nothing wasted in God’s economy, and where there has been sorrow, the Lord has planted a garden of joy, watered by their tears.
